Playground Upgrade At North Campus

Some may not be familiar with the California Wiz Kids North Campus which is located one block north of the preschool on Overland Avenue. The North Campus houses the advanced pre-kindergarten and the kindergarten programs. The Toddler House, where the very youngest students get their jump start to preschool is also located at the North Campus.

The original school (now referred to as the South Campus) has been in existence for twelve years. The North is four years old this year. In the constant attempt to improve what CWK has to offer our students and families, the North Campus playground has been given a face lift with the addition of artificial turf. This provides a cleaner, safer and more comfortable play environment while keeping allergies in check.

Red Shirt Day To Honor Our President

The Black History honoree for next Wednesday is America's first African American President of the United States, Barack Obama.

Many Americans thought that they would never see an African American in the White House in their lifetime. It is likely that his presidency will be the first of many firsts. It is now a real possibility for any little boy or girl to aspire to become president. And, if you can become president, you can become anything!

Students should wear a red shirt on Wednesday to honor their president and the country that allows them to become anything they dream to be.

Mardi Gras Day

When school reopens on Fat Tuesday, the day after President's Day, students should be ready for Mardi Gras by dressing in costume or in the official Mardi Gras colors...

PURPLE, GREEN and GOLD.

Black History Poster Project

Each CWK student is given the name of a famous African American icon. With parental help and guidance, he/she should create a poster depiction of this person. The poster should include pictures/images and a few interesting facts about the subject’s life and contributions to history. The assignment will help to develop fine motor skills (cutting and pasting) as well as an introduction to gathering information. This project is due on February 27th.

Pictured are projects from a previous year.
