Celebrating The Season

As we do every year, we'll be celebrating with an exciting performance presented by our CWKids. The event is always the highlight of our year and a delight for parents. So, clear your calendar and wear your jackets for this very wintry outdoor festivity. Take it from me...you don't want to miss it.

Don't Forget!

Remember that the student exchange gifts are due on December 18. In case it has slipped your mind, each student should bring a gift wrapped children's book to put under the class holiday tree. The gift tag should have only the giver's name on it.

Teacher's gifts can be brought in during the last week of school. If your child is a Busy Bee (youngest students), the teachers are Teachers Purna and Sue. The Frog and Tadpole teachers are Teachers Noemi and Vida.

The North Campus (kindergarten and pre-k) teachers are Teachers Raquel and Veronica.

Holiday Gift Exchange

The winter holiday season is a most wonderful time of the year. Everyone is full of joy and excitement. Families gather for celebration feasts and reunions. Friends take the time to renew acquaintance and celebrate friendship. Children are filled with the thrilling anticipation that goes with feeling like it's all about them.

This season is also a great time to teach children that giving a gift is almost as good as receiving one. I say almost because I'm smart enough to know that you'll never convince them, at their ages, that being on the receiving end is not the best position. It'll be a few years before that realization becomes clear.

Our annual student gift exchange will take place on December 23rd after our holiday performance. Each student should bring a gift wrapped children's book labeled with their own name only. The teachers will add a recipient's name and the gifts will be placed under the Holiday Tree. Children will not receive a book if they do not bring one...so don't forget. December 18 is the deadline to have these gifts at school.

Children may bring holiday gifts for the teachers during the last week of school.

Where's Teacher Vida?

Something's missing at the South Campus. I'm sure everyone, by now, has noticed that Teacher Vida has not been around lately. She's a big part of CWK and is missed by all. And, no one misses her more than the students in her class who love her fun loving ways and high expectations. She drives them hard and loves them harder. Teacher Vida is doing well and will return to CWK in a week or two. It won't be soon enough for us.

We Thank You

Even though CWK was closed on Thanksgiving Day, thanks to our very supportive parents we were able to enjoy a holiday meal with all the CWKids anyway. All the delicious food donations were appreciated and enjoyed by all...Pilgrims and Indians alike.
